Kathleen fell in love with dogs, specifically Pomeranians, later in life. She never had pets until her mid 30s and got Clyde and Cleo (aka Cleopatra) when she lived in California. She loves their personalities and how they comfort their owners in tough times. She currently works as an Engineer but is desperately looking for an escape from corporate America and her two hour a day commute. Taking care of pets through pet sitting is a great way to get away from the daily stresses of life because even when pets are having a bad day it’s still enjoyable to spend time with them and help them feel better.
Kathleen has been with her spouse for over a decade and are looking for a retirement business where they can work together, closer to home and with lots of flexibility so they can have a personal life outside of work. Since they are looking at this long term, commitments of seven days a week is not a problem and Zen Paws Pet Sitting, Inc.™ offers services every day of the year, including holidays. They have been blessed to work with some amazing pet sitting employees and though not always formally trained in pet sitting or pet care, their staff has experience owning pets and have the same love for pets as that they do.
Kathleen and her spouse are actively involved in the Breast Cancer 3-Day community and have participated in over 17 events raising over $100,000 for the cause. Her spouse is a cancer survivor, while not breast cancer, this cause is close to their hearts. Kathleen started Team Happy Feet, a 501Cc3 non-profit, to further their fundraising efforts and expand how they help their community. Not only do they donate to Susan G. Komen, they have donated to several other causes like Karmanos and American Cancer Society, as well as other organizations that offer financial assistance for medical and non-medical expenses of patients battling breast cancer. After seeing friends fight, and sometimes lose the battle, they saw how difficult it can be for a family to choose spending time with a healing loved one or working overtime to pay the bills. Zen Paws Pet Sitting, Inc.™ donates 10% of the profits to Team Happy Feet in support of Team Happy Feet’s mission.
