Kath fell in love with dogs, specifically Pomeranians later in life. She never had pets until her mid 30s and got Clyde and Cleo when she lived in California. She loves their personalities and how they comfort their owners in tough times. She’s currently has been an Engineer for her life long career and was is desperately looking for an escape from corporate America and a two hour a day commute. Taking care of pets through pet sitting is a great transition and not only has less stress, it takes away from the daily stresses of life. Even when pets are having a bad day it’s still enjoyable to spend time with them and help them feel better.

The owners have been together for over a decade and have been looking for a retirement business where they can work together. Something that is local (no commute) and flexible where they can work together and still have time to have a personal life outside work. Since they are looking at this long term, commitments of seven days a week is not a problem and Zen Paws Pet Sitting, Inc.™ offers services every day of the year, including holidays. As the business grows they are planning their retirement around it.

They have been blessed to take on some amazing pet sitting employees. Though not always trained specifically on pet sitting, or pet care, their staff has life the same types of long has experience and the same love for pets as that they do. With that, they and their staff continue to attend educational opportunities like pet CPR, medication administration and exotic pet care to serve our customers better for all their pet sitting needs.

The owners are heavily involved in the Breast Cancer 3-Day community and have participated in over 15 events raising over $100,000 for the cause. One of the owners is a cancer survivor so the cause is close to his heart.  Kathleen started Team Happy Feet, a 501Cc3 non-profit, to further their fundraising efforts and expand how they help their community. Not only do they donate to Susan G. Komen, they have donated to several other causes like Karmanos and American Cancer Society as well as and other organizations that offer financial assistance with medical and non-medical expenses of patients battling breast cancer. After seeing friends fight, and sometimes lose, the battle, they saw how difficult it can be for a family to choose spending time with a healing loved one or working overtime to pay the bills.  Because that Since this cause is so dear to their hearts, they continue to donate 10% of the profits earned at from Zen Paws Pet Sitting, Inc.™ to Team Happy Feet in support of their and their mission efforts.
