When you get a new puppy or pet in general it is very important that you touch them. Touch them often, give them treats while you do it, and touch their toes, pull their legs, touch their belly and ears. Open their mouth and touch their teeth. Get them used to you touching them so they are comfortable. That way as they get older, if they have a health issue, you can touch them and find out what it is. If they go to the vet, the vet can touch them and examine them.

It’s vitally important that you start when they are young so that as they get older they are used to it. It is much harder to start this process after they have matured.
