What are your training goals and plans? Like anything else in life, having a plan makes it easier.

What’s most important when it comes to training?  Come? Potty outside? Leash training? Prioritize what you want to focus on and stick to one item at a time until your pet understands. Then expand to the next item, and circle back from time to time on the first item to reward them for good behavior.

The key to training is consistency! We cannot stress this enough. What ever you do, your spouse and kids need to do as well. It’s best to skip a meal, when you have time, like dinner and use that food as treats for training. We have done this with our kids for over a year. In that year our kids have learned how to sit, shake, lay down, dance on their hind legs, ring bells and jump through hoops! We started with one trick and slowly added as they learned more.
